Staying in one of the shelters at Mountain Light is sort of like camping, but with the added comfort of a bed, and a roof over your head. And it's a lot less stuffy than being zipped up in a tent, too. Go for it.

Shelters:

  • Bamboo Tower - Twin up, twin down. Closest shelter to the lodge, right in front of the garden. Magical. Rate: $35 per night per person, bring your own bedding. (Pictured here to the lower right.)
  • Treehouse - The tree house is a 10x10 three sided structure with the fourth side open to the cascading river, 30 feet below. It is quite rustic but enchanting. It has an antique queen-size bed, and a couple chairs. The ultimate getaway place. Rate: $35 per night per person, bring your own bedding.
  • Hobbithut - This is simply a double bed with a roof on it. It has three walls and a screen which can be lowered on the fourth side. It sits on a small hill with a good view of the whole property, with the campfire ring nearby. Rate: $35 per night per person, bring your own bedding.
  • MerlinWood - You can't get any closer to nature than this. MerlinWood is simply a full size canopied bed at the edge of the forest. Rate: $35 per night per person, bring your own bedding.
  • Bali House - This is a 10x10 open pavilion beside the river. It has a raised floor with bamboo screens that can be lowered for privacy. It has two single beds. Rate: $35 per night per person, bring your own bedding.
